Gracious and loving God,
You are the God of past, present and future.
Today we remember and reflect on that past,
and on those of our classmates who are no longer
with us in the flesh, though they will always
be with us in spirit. We remember bright and sunny
days, laughter and strong friendships. We thank
you for good memories which sustain us
through
the years; for laughter and tears;
for joys shared and sorrows endured; for all good
gifts of life with which
you so abundantly bless us.
We dedicate this tree to the memory
of those classmates who have died over the
past thirty years. As its roots are deep in
the soil of this place and as its leaves shade
other generations of Fairport High School
students, might we be reminded of those who
have gone before us and may their memory continue
to bless us in the years to come.
Strengthen the bonds among us and keep us
all in your love and care.
Amen.
